see, some of my favorite games are games that some would describe as being "like a movie," but really, do video games REALLY need sex scenes?  unless it's something completely awesome and bizarre or something, i just don't see the point.

boy, i can't wait until Wii HD gets released.

I don't know how that guy was running it so smoothly with his setup because mine isn't so far off from that and it ran like shit. At 1080p I got about 3 fps, and at 480p I only even got 30fps at best. And there were graphical glitches. Guess I'll stick to the Wii.

I remember seeing New Super Mario Bros Wii on a HD set for the time a few weeks back at Steve Totilo's party and being blown away by how nice it looked, even at 480p. The lack of black bars at the top and bottom was also very nice.

The lag with button inputs... not so much!

Again, recommend me a HDTV in which my composite stuff won't look like shit and I'll put my money down (since sets these days are really cheap).

Weird, 480p looks like shit on my roommate's TV. If he had NSMB running at 1080p on his set though it would have looked awesome and it would not have had display lag.

Didn't Galaxy look really nice on your roommate's set?

Also, any chances that the new LED sets might somehow alleviate all these legacy problems?

Meh, the Wii looks okay on his set, but it looks much better on my arcade monitors. You can get TV sets that don't have display lag, it all depends on whether or not they want to make the upscalers work quickly or not. TVs that have a "game mode" usually take care of that problem. It's not about the display itself, but the parts inside that do the processing.
