Yeah I kind of want to see that. The bees clip that someone had linked to before sold me on it.

Based on the first suggestion, they've obviously never seen his bit parts in those Hogan movies, or his one guest stint in The Exorcist: The TV Series.
But yeah, the idea of an Undertaker movie, especially if it star Mark Calaway, fills with me with so much joy that I can't even begin. Which reminds me: I have to pick up that book that's based on the life and times of his half-brother Kane!

Am gonna write about it a bit later at the blog, but just wanted to mention that I saw Red Cliff earlier today and it was pretty fantastic. The best John Woo film in the 15+ years, which I know isn't say much, but still...
It was like a Chinese version of Lord of the Rings without all the dungeons and dragon bullshit.

I get the sense that the Undertaker movie idea is an attempt to cash in by making a Jonah Hex knock-off while the window for that is open.

For me, the best part of Lord of the Rings was all the crazy battle scenes. I wish they could have gone on forever, but instead, you got hobbits running around and all sorts of other goofy fantasy elements getting in the way. Which is the whole point of the film/books, I know, but still. Like how the stuff in Red Cliff is somewhat rooted in reality, so it's easier to become more invested and cheer the good guys on. Whereas in Rings, one could simply wonder "well, why doesn't some wizard just whip up the most bad-ass spell ever and get it over with?"

chinese historical dramas are about as factually accurate as 300 (with some exceptions). or the lord of the rings, for that matter.
the problem with lord of the rings is a) too fucking long and b) too fucking boring.

You make it sound like Wizard People, Dear Reader.
