No More Heroes 2 Comes Out This Week And Hardly A Soul Knows This

I forget if its been spoken of already in the stuff to look forward to thread, but I'm pretty sure this game warrants its own topic, cuz a lot of people here (I believe) loved or at least really liked the first game, and are totally interested into the sequel, but have no idea its coming out very soon.
Over the past couple of days, I've emailed like five different people at Ubi Soft, most of whom I have been told by trust sources are ones to ask/bother about this game. And not once did I get a response. Perhaps they're just blowing me off (well, obviously they are) and all the others major sites have been secretly getting ready for a gigantic marketing push, but something tells me that this is not the case. And even if it is, you'd think you'd want to build buzz somewhat in advance instead of waiting till the final three days. And it's not like Ubi doesn't have a shit ton of cash in the bank.

well i'm looking forward to playing as Shinobu
i severely doubt they have anything planned, marketing wise. there's some official trailers and whatnot on youtube via Ubisoft, but that's about it. oh well, they're terrible publishers when it comes to bringing over stuff like this.

So this finally came out today! Anyone else get it? I went to three different Gamesetops, and each were sold out. Mostly because they only bothered to stock enough copies to cover their pre-orders. Which on average was two. lol.
In the end, Stephen Totilo ended up passing along his spare copy. Yay Ubi Soft! But seriously, I was secretly expecting this gigantic, last minute advertising blitz, which naturally did not happen.
Though I'm backed-up with work, so Katie will be the first to give it a run.

played this for about um....4 hours tonight
but
yea, i'm really, really enjoying this game a lot. i just made it up to the second Shinobu mission. i was afraid that she would basically play like Travis, but a different "costume," so to speak, so, needless to say, i was really pleasantly surprised when it turned out that she's a totally different character. and all the little details that go with playing as her are great (including how she saves [fan service {Joe service}]) as well.
following Matt's twitter posts, i definitely agree with him. Ubisoft totally dropped the fucking ball (surprise) with this one. i mean, why would anyone want to play an improved version of the original, right?

After watching Katie play the thing for about four and half hours now, it just dawned on me that it's like the only game I've encountered that has tried to be funny and actually succeeds. Which is pretty mind-blowing my book.

I've been loving this game. I wasn't crazy about the Shinobu missions because I thought her controls, particularly her jumping, were sloppy. But I do think she's a cool character. Wish they would have played up her fake arm more.
I'm on the #2 ranked battle now. It isn't too hard in the beginning but finishing her off is almost impossible, but not in an annoying way, in a fun, challenging way. How far are you now, Joe?

So I finally beat the game earlier this evening, but on the easiest setting, just so I could see the end as soon as possible. And almost immediately started playing again on a harder setting.
I'm having a hard time determining if I like this game better than the first one. As noted in the past, it might not have the same charm as the first NMH, but dear God, is it ambitious as fuck. And even though the Wii might not be as powerful as the PS3 and 360, I've yet to see some of the environments that are oozing with atmosphere. That fight with the astronaut in the field as the dawn is cracking is simply beautiful.
As noted in the whatever the hell you're playing thread, I think the main reason why I hate Bayonetta so much is that its just tries way too hard to be irreverent, whereas this game just feels, I dunno, genuine and sincere.
