Downloaded this one. I've played the first few stars, and I'm not terribly excited so far. I wish they had addressed the fact that collecting coins and star bits feels like such a hollow task.

Played some more this morning. Still have no come across the a world that is really interesting, without the novelty factor of the first one, I'm just kind of wishing I were playing NSMBWii.

Sorry Dave, that you somehow hit your head or something; Galaxy 2 is awesome. Again, adding Yoshi to the mix makes the game so much more fun (though yes, like in NSMBWii, he's not in it nearly enough), plus the level designs are simply superb, like the harder ones in the latter part of 1, but with an extra edge (kinda like the original SMB 2, but actually playable this time).

My only complaint is that the presentation is not quite as strong (that's not to say the story in the original was amazing, but at least it moved the action along), to the point that it should be far more bare bones, but whatever.

Of course, my opinion could very well change, since I haven't had a chance to try out the other abilities, but I'm confident that the game will be consistently sweet throughout.

What's up with the levels you can die from falling off when there are no black holes around? Instead of a flat world, why not just a larger sphere? Can the engine not handle it? I don't like pits in a 3D mario game, they're worthless.

Is it just me or did Mario 64 have far fewer areas where you could fall to your death save for the Bowser levels? It's not that I'm dying a lot from it, it just makes it not as fun to run around and just screw off.

For reals. While not necessarily better, part two is still just as awesome.

So I guess you have a Wii now?

Deathsmiles II X is a piece of shit port. It's a real shame because I actually kind of like it.

That sucks to hear. What's so bad about it to be exact? Are the backgrounds shitty again? And did Cave handle the port?

BTW, anyone else got their hands on Red Dead Redemption? I've had a copy for over a week now, but have been too damn busy to actually give it a spin. And now that No More Heroes for the PS3 just arrived... might be some more time as well!

SURPRISE! No More Heroes on a system that's not the Wii is not a whole lot of fun! Also, Christ the PS3's retarded loading times.

Once again, anyone else here playing Red Dead? Everyone seems to love it to death, but I have the same basic issues as with GTA4. Plus it's not nearly as much fun; there's so many ways to screw around in the faux Big Apple, but the old west? Not as much.

alpha protocol is pretty good thus far, though it has some serious mechanics problems.
