I especially like the combination Country Bear Jamboree bear, turned into a scorpion...

... Since I'm not a PC gamer, is Warren Spector worth the hype? Or is he just another Peter Molyneux?

In short - yes, Spector is responsible for majority of fun I had with PC games back in high school (Ultima Underworld, System Shock, Thief ect.). But he haven't published / designed anything in last 5 years. At least he haven't (yet) turned into one-man hype machine like Molyneux did in last few years.

Wait, what? This looks awesome!

...I wonder how the hell Disney allowed that?

How in the hell could Disney allow 99% of the crap Square Enix does to its IP in Kingdom Hearts? In the end, if it'll sell, it's okay.

Obviously, most of the  crap in Kingdom Hearts is there in order to sell to people who think it's one of the most deepest video game stories... ever!

Nevermind it took forever before you were able to do anything in KH 2.

Some gameplay details...

Quote
We've since been told that it's a Wii-exclusive where you paint your way through levels using the Wii Remote. This 'painting your way' involves you drawing, etching and erasing whole or parts of levels as you go. Capcom's Okami immediately springs to mind but we've not got enough info to go on to make any kind of informed judgement.

As for the story, we've also been told that it'll be based around very old and/or forgotten Disney characters who are out to get their revenge on Mickey, presumably because they're jealous of all his fame and fortune. We Googled 'early Disney characters' and found that Oswald the Lucky Rabbit returned a lot of hits.

... That actually sounds kinda neat. But anything is better than Kingdom Hearts at this point.

I think I'm just happy Warren Spector is still making games.

But, so far the art and the gameplay look and sound interesting. Let's just hope it isn't another Kingdom Hearts.

From what I can gather he's turned into more of a public speaker and gets karted around alot.  But if you want to know how cool the dude is check his blog there's some amusing stuff in there.

However if these pics are showing up in resumes i'm skeptical about it being produced.  it would make sense for disney to want to recapture it's older market but i'm not sure if this is the way they would do it.

Yeah, he does a lot of talking around these parts, and I hear it's a must not miss, though I have for whatever reasons. I've somewhat grown bored of game design talks as of late, but will try to catch him, next time he pops up.
