Space Invaders Infinity Gene hit the iPhone today for $4.99.

The remake of the classic features a customizable "evolutionary tree" and the ability to play original stages based on your own music. It sort of looks like it's getting the shmup treatment.

I am beginning to wonder when Darius will get such illustrious treatment.

Yeah, I sorta mentioned the game already in the random game videos thread. But a thread about it is not a bad idea... Been playing it for the past half hour. It's pretty damn hot! Again, so funny how after so many miserable attempts to inject life in Space Invaders, they finally figured it out.

I think they've made many miserable attempts across the board with their old games and updating them.

just downloaded this.  it's pretty interesting and fun so far.  i like the idea of using the iPhone's music to generate levels and since i tend to have a lot of electronic and ambient music on my phone, it fits in pretty perfectly.
