E3 2010

1. It's sad how MS and Sony are all so shamelessly copying Nintendo's motion control gimmick. And at least Nintendo has their patented sheen to make things a little less douchey, whereas the other guys do not. Also, what's the fucking point since everyone already has a Wii and it's far cheaper than what is being offered (I hear Natal/Kinect will be like $150, Jesus).
2. That being said, I will get the Move for Rez 2...
http://kotaku.com/5563293/this-is-basically-rez-for-the-playstation-move
Cannot wait (mostly to see how bad Ubi screws up the marketing).
3. Once again, Nintendo seems to be the only company that can redesign their own hardware. Case in point: new 360 "slim" looks like a crappy Alienware PC, circa 2001.
4. I officially do not give two shits about Gran Turismo 5 anymore. You lost me Sony.
5. Donkey Kong by Retro? Okay....
6. Criterion doing the next Need For Speed? lol.

yea, see, i don't think i'll be buying Move or Kinect, as apparently Child of Eden will actually support regular controllers as well.
mayyyybe one day
but honestly, i would only see it being cool if it were like in that trailer; on a huge screen, maybe at an artspace.
Hard Corps: Uprising looks pretty bland
MGS Rising is umm...yea, not sure yet. could be fun. certainly looks full of cutting stuff.
CV Harmony of Despair. pretty sure this will be terrible.
what else am i forgetting?

That new Rayman game, despite going way overboard with the shitty French humor, actually looks kinda interesting!

yea, i missed the whole Rayman boat years ago and i don't think i'll be getting on it any time soon.
it does, though, looks better than any of the other "new" Rayman games i'd seen over the past few years.

I told those jokers on the Arcade Otaku forum that MvC3 was looking good based on the stills. I'll have to go see if they agree after watching that fucking epic video.
Facefook? So Ubisoft's presentation sucked, but it wouldn't have been all bad if they had shown this:

And yeah, the Rayman game actually looked really pretty.

I wasn't on the MvC3 bandwagon till now. Game looks fucking dope.
Anyway, Nintendo announced a bunch of stuff. The new Zelda game looks sorta interesting, only cuz it appears to be visually speaking a mix of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, but otherwise, same old shit. Could care less about Wii Party, but will still get it, cuz I like Nintendo's party games.
The real hotness is that new Kirby yarn game. New Donkey Kong from Retro looks decent, but I'd be far more excited if they were remaking Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Though the real big news is the 3DS, and the fact that people are actually saying it works, especially without the need for 3d glasses has me super excited.

Am I missing something, or was The Last Guardian nowhere to be found?

Nope. It was indeed nowhere. I believe the highlight of Sony's press events was a new Twisted Metal (which I've never been the biggest fan of, but whatever), yet another half-baked PSP marketing campaign (seriously, how many has this one platform gotten over the years? must be a record of some sort), and word that they're going to start charging for their shitty online infrastructure.
On a related note, tried downloading the new Rockin' Android release on the PSN earlier this evening, and this is what I got. lol...

The weakest of sauces:

Perfect Dark HD looks much better than that (and Perfect Dark always was better than Goldeneye).

it'll be interesting, but i still hold that glados (like shodan before her) gets love only because the character is (voiced) female. otherwise it'd be just too damn rapey.
