Last night I finally gave Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes for the DS a spin. It's been the darling of the indie world, due it being a produce of Cappy, which made the extremely awesome Critter Crunch. And... I literally fell asleep while playing it while on the train. Oh well.

I felt my heart break a bit after I realized I won't be able to play Crimson Skies online in a month.  It's one of a few games I'm genuinely good at, I dumped countless hours into this back on the OG Xbox.  I'm going to try to show my old Xbox games some love before they become somewhat useless and get put onto the shelf with my favorite useless Dreamcast games.

I'm debating on whether if it's worth it to shell out the $40-ish for an unmodded Xbox and Steel Battalion: Line of Contact.  I loved the first game but getting it set up properly was such a hassle, but I know on my deathbed I'll have wished I had the chance to play this stupid thing online.

picked up the new stalker for 20 bucks due to previous brand loyalty spent on the less than worthy clear sky.

a decent promotional idea, i think.

for my first bit out double crossed some double crossers during a midnight raid and picked up some great weapons. and then i saved the game because it is pitch black at night and i'm not in the mood to get jumped.

Played a bit of Dante's Inferno (which EA was kind enough to pass along). And... I sorta like it?

I remember Joe going off on it earlier this week, and can understand his reasons, but.... Ultimately, it's a shameless God of War clone, but since I can't stand that game's aesthetics, and graphics here are pretty cool, plus the controls are tight, with nice upgrade options, plus other nice flourishes, I kinda don't mind it being so derivative?

Chime on XBLA (400 points) is really interesting take on puzzle game.

It's basically Tetris mixed with Lumines - quite relaxing and not super challenging but at the same time having enough depth and not being boring.

Game's only major flaw is lack of songs / levels (it comes with 5 of them and has two modes - timed and free). You can be done with it in an hour, but I kept coming back to it for the whole week.

Interesting way to do an ARG (of sorts):

Just downloaded Mega Man 10. And I'm gonna see how far I can go without resorting to easy mode (which I'll probably have to in quick fashion).

so i finally downloaded Mega Man 10 last night. i'm sort of unsure what i think of it. i'm having fun playing it, but i'm a whore for all things Mega Man, so this is no surprise. but as i'm playing it, certain things are just irking me. MM10 comes off like the prime example of everything that's wrong with MM sequels in general. also, the stage, boss and music design is kind of boring thus far.

granted i've only beat four bosses so far, but...yea, definitely not enjoying this one as much as MM9, which is unfortunate.

Well, you're not the only one who thinks the music is boring, that's for sure.

Anyone else a part of the Blur beta? It's not bad... though after trying out Split/Second, pretty much everything is a disappointment.

call of pripyat is HOT TO DEATH. hard as hell, spooky as shit, [adjective] as [vulgarity].

at points it's more like survival horror, a la x18 in the first game. the emissions mechanic works great - in the middle of a firefight the notice will go out and everyone scrambles to find some place to hide from the blast.

been playing clear sky, the stalker prequel. it's easy to see what was fixed and why it was so broken upon release. most of the issues have been fixed, and i've only had one crash in a few hours of gameplay, but pripyat was a hell of a step forward.

i do like the scarcity of cash, though having invincible bloodsuckers (when invisible) is pretty shit. you get about .5 seconds to shoot them before they start eating your face.
