... or another LOL White People topic, though I have no idea what the nationality of the people involved are. But I'm guessing white, since they're the ones who use Yelp in the first place.

i really happen to like Yelp.  it's a good way to find new places when you're somewhere you're not familiar with or if you want a certain type of food.  but this is kind of ridiculous.  but also not surprising!

i've actually had business owners contact me via PM before, but because they liked my review and appreciated the comments.  i'm sure the opposite is possible and happens as well, but it does appear that this woman is psychotic.  if you don't like the public commenting on your stuff, don't...do anything public?

I can certainly appreciate the usefulness of Yelp. I just find user generated reviews to be, overall, rather worthless. Then again, someone saying something about a local business should mean more than some random stranger bitching about a LaCie hard drive, for perhaps obvious reasons.

That being said, I just found it hilarious the one time I decided to check the thing out, to see what others thought of my favorite eats, all of which are rock solid. And in the case of my fave Mexican joint, which is fairly authentic, but not even to some wacky degree, it was still too much for these Chipotle loving fucks. With pretty much all the others following suit in a similar vein. Oh well!

yelp tends to be hit or miss with restaurants because tastes are probably most sharply defined in that area. but as an aggregating tool it's useful.
