Holy Invasion of Terrible Name!

OK
so i haven't really seen anyone mention this game at all.
the game in question?
Holy Invasion Of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do To Deserve This?
or as it's known in the motherland
Yuusha no Kuse Ni Namaikida
so this game was finally released in America and it was nowhere to be found in stores. then i realized why: NIS America decided to make it a download only game on the PSN Store. interesting!
so i am currently waiting for my PSP to charge so i can play this, but what i played of the demo really gripped me.
the game is something like a mix of Sim City and a RTS game, though perhaps more like Sim Ant (which i've never played and can only guess about).
the premise is that you are the Lord of Darkness and you control an evil "last boss" kind of character who lives in a tower, waiting for heroes to come try to stop him from conquering the world. to get into the actual gameplay is a bit hard to describe, but basically you raise up little monsters and try to make as big a defense as possible before...
...the heroes show up! if you can keep killing the heroes, you win. a pretty simple premise, but it manages to be a lot of fun.
so anyone else give it a shot?

I nabbed the game a few days ago and gave the tutorial a spin. Was decent fun, though I was distracted by 20 other things (mostly games) and never went back. May as well later today since I've heard nothing but good things.
But yeah, the name sucks, yet it's definitely helping it to stick out, so mission accomplished on that front.

I don't know. That name is kind of awesome. I guess I should download this now that it's been localized.

i guess more than anything i find it kind of a mouthful
which means i probably won't discuss it in person with people because i'll feel stupid saying the title every time
anyway, this game is not really easy! but it's addictive enough to make you try over and see what might work better next time.

I would probably just refer to it as "that Badman game."

what pleasantly surprised me about this game is that it's more of an arcade-style game than it is a strategy or RPG or RTS or whatever. there are different levels, but when you die, you have to start over from level 1. i personally like that a lot better than the alternative. by making you play through from nothing every time, it teaches you how to play better or allows you to think of new ideas and strategies that may not have occurred to you before.
also, some of the character/monster descriptions in the almanac are pretty funny. though some are not and rely on internet memes that will render the humor useless in the next 2-6 years.

i mean, i pray for the sake of humanity that if i ever had a child of some kind in the distant future i'd have to explain to what "om nom nom" refers.
i mean
i don't know what i'd do if that crap survives
