Check this email I just got:
Hey everyone!
Tomorrow is the big day! The first night of Carnivale! Will be starting tomorrow night at 5:00pm at the Astor Place Cube.
The concept is none other than having a replica of the Carnival of Venice, a beautiful parade that dates back as far as the 1200's. In this parade, the participants are fully disguised, the costumes are up to the costume wearer, the only requirement is the Mask, so typical of this event. What we would to is show up in full venetian regalia in St. Marks (venice carnival begins in St. Mark's Square) and spread out through the downtown area around Little Italy, then the entire 'parade' itself can reconvene three evenings for the weekend and stop at things, like rocky horror, personality crisis, performances, etc.
We will be meeting at the Astor Place Cube (On Astor Place, Between Cooper Sq & Lafayette St. in the East Village) at 5:00pm SHARP! Please do not be late!!
For our first evening we will go to the following places:
- St. Marks Place
- 2Bros Dollar Pizza
- Halloween Adventure
- Union Square (including McDonalds, Starbucks and Barnes&Noble)
- A formal dance on Broadway
- The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Stay tuned for what future nights hold!
This event was planned and organized by Giorgia. Alex Vanino will be running the event this weekend, with the help of Jono on Friday, and maybe Giorgia this weekend if she is feeling better.
If you're planning on coming late, feel free to Call Alex at 914-907-6140 to get our current location.
