Two male crackheads got on the train while on my way downtown for dinner earlier this evening. They were loud, real loud, and had to let everyone know their business. One was the prototypical gangster type, while the other was the vet, with the desert storm camo and all.
I love how every single crackhead conversation has the following points:
- If there are two men, like in this instance, one will always be complaining about their wife, usually over a very minor sum of money, like around $30
- Said thirty bucks was supposed to go towards the phone or gas bill, which will not get paid, and thus service will be shut off, hence the constant "I told my bitch!" ad nausea.
- One of the two will constantly proclaim that they're a "hustler" and it's always about the money, and act all tough.
- But this same one will also proclaim what a wonderful parent they are, and how they're always there for their daughter. Though you just know that's not the case.
- One will do all the talking, and the other will generally be silent, mostly because he can't talk, and when he does, he'll sound like he's speaking through a voice modulator.
The specific exchange lasted from 145th Street to 59th, which sounds long, but since it's an express line, it wasn't. Though they were right next to me, so it felt like an eternity. They made their exit just as this one dude, a large fat black man who goes around the system, asking for money for some (I would have to guess) fake charity. His spiel always starts out the same, how he used to be a crackhead and stole from his own mother to support his own habit, but found Jesus, blah, blah.
Invariably he'll get annoyed that no one is giving him any donations and then starting going down the list of evils that's corrupting society, which is always topped with "faggots" and "gold teethed n*ggers". Just once I would love to see actual crackheads who are clearly starving and could use a sandwich encounter this person. Me thinks he'll get one, but without another long-winded sermon, culminating in some kind a faux religious ceremony.
