Guess this is somewhat appropriate here: I'm debating if I want to go through all the hopes to check out CMJ next week. Last time I tried I barely saw anything due to lack of planning, and what I saw kinda blew.

yea, HEALTH is probably one of my favorite bands, currently.  saw them live back in the spring without knowing much about them and found out their live shows are great.  the new CD, like said before, is really good, but a bit more succinct than the shows.  still really worth checking out, though.  and Katie has the album, so uh...go listen.



also been debating whether or not to go to CMJ.  Toups made some mention of it before, but not really too sure if i'm gonna make it out there yet.  thus far i've only seen one band on the list that i want to check out, but i can't even remember who it is right now.

last year kompakt released all four gas lp's. if you like damn fine ambient with a submerged (a really, really, really submerged) rhythm, for 30 bucks you get about four hours of music.

also been listening to all the early death albums. human is still my favorite by quite a bit. (also tried out a few "classic" technical death metal albums that were recommended to me, but they're all basically variations on dream theater but harder. fuck that ponytailed monstrosity!)
