Good luck filling a 1000+ venue in Woodside for a chiptune concert.

Well that was fast; show has been cancelled. Trying to find out what the deal is, but it seems to be the usual: inept planning, announcing a venue but failing to actually securing it beforehand, etc.

Yeah, I saw some Facebook posting about "the chip con ridiculousness" but I didn't know what that actually was. That's pretty funny.

huh, interesting.  i didn't really recognize most of the people who were supposed to be playing, but Woodside isn't really that out of the way, imo, as a lot of trains run by over there.  oh well.

anyway, i heard they wanna do a blipfest in Tokyo?  or rather, are planning on it?

They secured the venue, but then the venue pulled out, probably after learning that they would have a hard time filling it and they were only going to make money on drinks (plus they probably heard that chip goers don't drink much). But that can probably be chalked up to inept planning because the guy planning it was clearly out of his league and didn't have an accurate grasp on what is possible with this scene.
