Well, speaking as a regular/heavy user of Twitter (yes, it's gay as hell, but when you're a blogger, it's an almost essential means of getting your name/nonsense out there), I was initially going to applaud Google's efforts, which is about a billion times more useful than Wave.

And then I stumbled across the comments section of this post and check out all the complaints...

http://gizmodo.com/5469101/google-buzz-is-a-dirty-snitch

... Plus it dawned on me that Mike, who hates Twitter, would not be sending me all these invites to follow me and follow him, so there had to be something else going on.

So yeah, once again, Google took what should have been so simple and made it needlessly complicated, like always. Congrats.

Though I'm still using it only in the sense that I have simply inputted my Twitter feed and will never touch it again. And the whole thing is significantly less annoying due to the simple fact that I access my mail through a client and therefore cannot be bothered by yet another meaningless/sloppy Gmail feature.

thanks matt. that was kind of a pain in the ass.

i appreciate that google is in that weird teenage state where they're trying a bit of everything all at once to see what sticks, but this was monumentally fucked up.

Other people certainly agree (http://fugitivus.wordpress.com/2010/02/11/fuck-you-google/).
