Title: other worthy console ports?
Post by: dhex on August 27, 2009, 09:54:51 AM
i've got an xbox controller, and so far i kinda like prototype. (i like it enough that i haven't cracked into bound in blood or the diablo battle chest i picked up at the same time)

what else is worth my time? budgety is good. not-japan is, of course, preferred, if only for the sake of consistency. was already bored to death with assassin's creeds so nix on that.

on a side note, what the hell is up with everything being a fucking collectathon? i'm not that attached to the fourth wall but what about trying every now and then?

Gears of War is the real thing, definitely. At the very least, it's the best console thing going since Resident Evil 4. Hitman Blood Money is also pretty amazing (don't let the tutorial throw you off, the real levels are big and open-ended and crazy).

I was actually going to suggest Dead Space, but was afraid it was one of those PC-like titles for console wimps.

it probably is. consolization is the greatest scourge since syphillis.

actually with action games it's not really a problem. it makes sense (points to xbox controller). it's with fps games that it becomes a serious problem, especially interface-wise.

and rpgs, but enough about that poor lost art.

Dead Space is sort of awesome, but never was gripping enough to keep me playing.
