I really love AT&T's attempt at damage control, courtesy of "'Seth the blogger guy"...

... Seriously, they couldn't have picked a more perfect schlep.

I have no idea what I would have done if I was born before the age of glasses. That's pretty damn awesome.

Well, on a related note, of technology empowering douchebags, here we have yet another reason why I'm embarrassed to be an Apple/iPhone users/...

Well, it doesn't help when said tribe is the reason why your cell phone service is so shitty/fucking slow (with everyone hogging the network for nonsense, though texting does take up nothing of the bandwidth).

That's the thing. Most of my bling rage has been reserved for AT&T, and while they totally suck, don't get me wrong, the bottom-line is that no one, including T-Mobile, Sprint, and maybe even Verizon, would be currently be able to handle all the bandwidth that iPhone users are eating up.

And people will do what people do, plus it's understandable that they'll want to flex their wonderful new toy. But if you're at Union Square and can't make an important phone call because the signal is clogged up with all those NYU kids shooting video of the lame interpretive dancers doing the troofer shimmy and are then immediately uploading them onto YouTube.... etc.

The only way that things will get any better on AT&T's end is if Apple does seriously consider bringing the iPhone out for other carriers, which will force them to increase their signal spectrum to keep their current customers from jumping shop. AT&T has claimed to being doing all they can, but most feel it's a half-hearted effort at best, and they've only really addressed the matter directly after that recent Time piece which has been PR nightmare for them ever since.

I've been adamant since day one that the idea of a Mac tablet is stupid. People love netbooks for numerous, perhaps obvious reasons, and Apple to not capitalize on this is just crazy. Guess they're already happy with all the money they make.

But yeah, the touchscreen makes actually productivity on the iPhone impossible, though that small screen doesn't help either. Though on a larger scale... even stupider. So its funny how MS has a possible idea that actually seems really awesome (well, not actually MS, but you know what I mean)....

... Though the idea of writing so much stuff on a touchscreen, like a virtual pad of paper, still not for me.

i would love an affordable internet-connected touchscreen tablet for meetings and sketching out ideas. virtual keyboard, presuming it worked ok or - better yet - was scalable in size, would be icing on the cake.

I've always kind of wanted one of those tablet pcs which have the screen that folds over the keyboard for tablet mode, or opens like a traditional laptop.

Yeah, that's why my next computer type purchase is going to be a cheap asus netbook for working when traveling.
