I'm actually somewhat impressed by that on a certain level, though I'm having a hard putting into words why.

Yeah, I guess. I mean, it's done so on such a... proficient manner... that I can't help but not hate it all that much. One of the things that I've tried to do is hate on shit less that's not meant for me. And the only area that seems to be working for me is music.

Semi-related: came to an epiphany the other night... the Insane Clown Posse? I have no problems with them. Again, can't stand their music, but I respect the fact that they've been able to develop such a massive fanbase and become millionaires despite the fact that they never get any radio play and how hardly anyone buys records anymore.

Mind you, we could each rattle off a ton of names of contemporary musical acts that enjoy a loyal following, including healthy album sales and the such, but your average diehard ICP fan is unique because they remind me of mainstream music fans of the mid 90s. So much like an endangered specials, I'm willing to leave them alone, along with the fact that they are pretty entertaining. Cue discussion touching upon natural selection...

Exactly.

Nah, they're in a different category of odd entirely. It's the difference between pedophiliac seafood enthusiasts and happy hardcore fans who are also hitmen.

Where's Sergei when you need him?

This is not really that surprising to me.

Considering that the whole east European block and Russia was fed a steady dose of German (really bad) techno music and videos over past 10 or more years this was bound to happen.

When I was growing up in Poland in mid-to late 90's music videos like that (sans metal) were played on German equivalent of MTV 24/7.

crunkcore is easily the most baffling musical trend since...actually, i'm blanking here. oh, the dangers of hybridity.

attack attack is pretty much insanely bad too.
