I don't understand why people keep saying it doesn't make sense. It actually all does.
Can you cite examples?
id make comparisons to the manga but its been years since ive read it, but i do remember that the monk/protester with the fro-thing has a more extended role in the book, and she has a whole monologue explaining things that wasnt in the film.

New Tron trailer is online... http://program-glitch-esc.net/... looks fucking awesome. Music is not very Daft Punk-y as some have reported, but hey, we've still got time.

The fact that it's shades of the Silver Centenarian outfit is what makes me most happy.

Hahaha, awesome.
I saw Alice in Wonderland last night. One of Burton's weaker movie, but it did have some nice stuff in it. The Cheshire Cat and the Red Queen looked awesome. Crispin Glover's animation was just weird enough to look all wrong, but not weird enough to go for the effect it is clear they wanted (to make him look like one of the card guards, but human). I was hoping I'd get to hear Alan Rickman voice a butterfly, but it didn't happen.
There were plenty faults with the narrative, but I'd have to consider the film more than I really want to to get to the heart of the problem.

Was gonna put this in the anime thread, but figured it could work here as well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qS6E-Nu3xsg... Looks neat and all, but the mech itself looks way too busy, a la Michael Bay's Transformers.

That was rude of them to build a city over her exit.
And why does her hair look like tentacles? Or was it supposed to be tentacles?

yea, that's a pretty good post.
i watched Werner Herzog's "Bad Lieutenant" last night, along with the classic doc "Paris is Burning"
pretty opposite ends of the spectrum, but i had a really good time with both.
i've never seen the original BL, which probably means i'm a terrible person, but i imagine this new one has NOTHING to do with the original aside from perhaps a general kind of premise. definitely one of the better Nick Cage films, though.
