the existence of jam bands and "psychedelic art" pretty much stabs that theory in the ass, bro. escapist eyecandy and drugs are a glue trap.

Not to change the subject, but then again, semi-related; heard about this Dave?

I wonder how much this need for 3D is based upon Avatar? Surely it's been in the plans for a while, but due to Cameron's movie, I can see it being something very important now, instead of something that could conceivably be let go due to time/budget constraints.

Had not heard. That's cool, except for the part about a "gritty" Spider-Man which is more lolz than cool.

the proposition wasn't that great things come out of acid (acid rock, acid washed jeans), but that acid somehow supercedes the ungreat. (acid jazz)

I half-watched the Golden Globes earlier this evening, just to see James Cameron pull out an extremely awkward/in poor taste Avatar-Haiti analogy, but in the end, I was left disappointed. Though he did come off as a MAJOR asshole.

And yes, award shows are fucking retarded, I know this basic fact of life, but the seven year old in me still finds them fascinating, and tonight was to help get the appetite wet for the Oscars, which is when me and my buddy Joe Simko get drunk and yell at the TV. It's basically our Super Bowl, for all intents and purposes.

I really wanted to love House, but man, I don't think I could watch that again.  Definitely worth watching for the piano scene and Kung-Fu's booty, though.

That's how I felt mostly. Except I really did enjoy it, but not in the way that I'm eager to see it again.

i usually watch akira at least once a year, and the more i see it the less it makes sense. not because its an "omg mindfuck" or whatever, but because it DOESNT make sense.

if they couldnt condense the whole thing into two hours the first time, what makes them think they'll be able to do it now?

I don't understand why people keep saying it doesn't make sense. It actually all does.

Can you cite examples?
