Faith No More is coming to town this weekend, fyi. And yes, I know it's not the original line-up, don't care. Never seen them before, so I should be happy regardless.

I'm going to the Friday night show. Anyone else game?

I'll be at this on Sunday: http://lepoissonrouge.com/events/view/1422

Pretty indifferent about Xiu Xiu...but Merzbow, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!  Gentle is also playing and judging from what's on their myspace, sounds like they have some potential

edit: I won't be going, but for those interested, I found out Shonen Knife will be playing at the Knitting Factory in BK on Tues night - http://bk.knittingfactory.com/event-details/?tfly_event_id=13137

Katie and myself are going. Unfortunately, I'll have to skip on the pre-game (will be at the New York Comic Con immediately before... lol).

dhex,

Merzbow was really great, he played alongside a (Belgian?) drummer whose name escapes me, which complements his harsh, metal-y style perfectly imo.  It was also my first time seeing him so I can't say how it compared to his other live acts. I know he played a 2-set show at Issue Project Room just a few nights before that one, so there was plenty of Merz lovin' to go around.

My only complaints was the set wasn't long enough (for me..) and I missed seeing Gentle, argh (only sort of my fault)

neat!

fitz: i think sadly the pink dots best days are behind them. dunno if you've heard recent stuff, but it's damn far down the prog wormhole. i'm glad i saw them when ryan moore was drumming for them.

1) anyone got any good pregame suggestions for ft. greene? round the masonic temple would be best. (isn't that always the case?)

2) on sunday you guys should come to coco66 in greenpoint and see me and joe absolutely bomb in front of an audience expecting comedy and fun times rock and roll.

I actually live around Clinton Hill... while I don't think I could wholeheartedly recommended any place, Alibi on DeKalb might actually fit your bill if you are just looking for drinks: http://www.yelp.com/biz/alibi-brooklyn

The visit should produce a cheap drink and at least one entertaining story

Also some decent food to be had in the area ..

polish cop fighting brew doesn't match well with food (i'm presuming the beer selection will be the same from throbbing gristle) so a cheap beer or four is all i'm looking for. thanks.
